Hey wonderful people! Today, I’m finally getting to share an amazing collaborative project I did with the National Gallery of Art and I’m taking you behind the scenes of an incredible day that was just bursting with color, love, and of course, ART!
My adventure began with coffee at The Terrace Cafe followed by immersing myself in Ellsworth Kelly’s vibrant masterpieces right when you walk into the gallery. The artworks, brimming with queer experiences, resonated deeply with me. It’s such an eye-catching piece and you really need to take a moment to take it in.
My love for souvenirs is no secret! I had a blast exploring the gift shop, and picking up quirky bookmarks, candles, and elegant postcards. The shops are 10/10! I know where I’m getting some of my holiday gifts this year! My stroll through the gallery brought a magical moment – my fanny pack actually matched with an artwork. It was like witnessing a live fusion of fashion and art, ha!
A quick detour to the expresso bar led to gelato heaven! Sharing laughs and tasting the divine blue rooster gelato, was like savoring a piece of art – scrumptious and unforgettable! 🍨
Lunch at The Garden Cafe was a serene escape. Sharing stories, and enjoying salads and enjoying, ahem, cookies – the ambiance was just I what I needed to fill me up for the rest of the day.
Carter later joined me in exploring and interacting with Edgar Degas’s masterpieces. With Carter by my side, my journey through the museum felt like a romantic adventure. Each artwork seemed to allude to the history of our love story.
We concluded the day by laying out a picnic among the sculptures – it was a scene straight out of a romantic movie! Laughter, love, and towering art pieces – time seemed to stand still. Ending the day by the reflecting pool, Carter and I reflected on this super fun day we spent together at the gallery.
And there you have it, a sneak peek into a day filled with art, love, and laughter with Carter and me! The National Gallery of Art was a treasure trove of experiences, and sharing it with him was truly special. If you ever decide to go, bring your fanny pack – you never know when it’ll turn into a masterpiece! 🎨
