As summer comes to a close and temperatures cool down, I'm reminded that when fall arrives I need to switch over from short sleeve shirts and to long sleeve shirts and henley's and I must confess, fall is really my favorite season! It's the season where you can actually layer pieces in your wardrobe and not be too uncomfortably hot or cold.
I recently started a new job in Northeast DC and I came across these awesome loading docks near Union Market (I'm pretty sure I've mentioned UM before in a previous post -- you have to check it out if you're not from the DC area -- a must see!) where I decided to photograph this outfit. Ok, here comes another confession, I actually wore this outfit all day to my REAL job. Yes, you read that right. I'm lucky enough to wear what I'm comfortable in for work, which is great!
I decided to wear my black denim from J.Crew, paired with an out of this world comfortable tee from my friends over at Fresh Clean Tees. I layered on a great wool button-down shirt from Filson and tossed on a pair of my go-to Nike sneakers.
Since my outfit was really dark and didn't have too much pattern or color, for accessories, I put on a great tribal printed band watch from Timex with my always-on Giles & Brother bracelet.
I can't wait to enjoy the next few months as the temperatures continue to cool down, although, I'm not sure if I'm ready for winter just yet. But, I did realize (while unpacking all of my fall gear) how much I need to upgrade my winter coats, so at least I have to look forward to some winter shopping ahead!
Big shout out to Carl for these awesome shots! If you don't know Carl's work, you definitely should.
Enjoy that cool fall weather everybody!
