Last week I had the opportunity to take DC Magazine around to some of my favorite places around The Yards. Known for its proximity to the Nationals baseball stadium, there's a lot to see and do near the DC waterfront.
First, we started at Whaley's for lunch and had the chance to enjoy the weather outside in their rose garden. Known for their seafood dishes and cocktails, Whaley's also has a cocktail cart which comes directly to your table when you order one of their specialty cocktails.
Next we went to Bluejacket Brewery where we got a tour of the brewery on-site and also learned that they can their own brand of beer in-house. The brewery is a great space for friends to gather before baseball games or after work.
I'm wearing an outfit from the summer collection from Express men. Since I knew we'd be outside for most of the day I wanted to wear a lightweight short sleeve shirt and paired it with some light wash denim. I paired the outfit with a clean white sneaker to tie up the crisp look.
For dinner, later on, we stopped into District Winery, the district's only and first actual winery. Not only do you get some pretty spectacular views of the waterfront, but they also offer winery tours and wine pairing dinners featuring many of their locally produced wines.
Finally we stopped at one of my go to dessert spots when I'm down at The Yards - Ice Cream Jubilee. Known for their creative flavors, there's really no way you can go wrong when stopping in. Feel free to add two or three scoops onto your cone and top it off with a cookie. I did!
