One of the things I love the most about Washington, DC is the character every individual neighborhood brings to the District. Whether you're shopping in Eastern Market or grabbing a bite to eat in Petworth, each neighborhood has its close network of residents and destinations that make up a piece of the cultural and diverse cloth that allow us to be the great city that we are.
In celebration of our great neighborhoods, The DC Lottery is currently running the #ShowYourDC campaign. The DC Lottery Neighborhoods Campaign is about embracing the District of Columbia’s rich in diversity mix of neighborhoods and the people that call this wonderful place “home”.
I live in the U Street corridor and what I love most about my neighborhood is seeing all of the different murals along the streets. I love being in a city that embraces artists and empowers them to show their talents among residents and visitors.
I had the opportunity to explore The DC Lottery website and got to learn a bit more about some of the other neighborhoods I didn't know much about. Take a look at The DC Lottery website and click around "The Neighborhoods" buttons to learn a little bit more about that specific neighborhood you're interested in.

The Lottery, through the Neighborhoods Scratcher Second Chance Contest, is awarding a lucky winner $500,000 that could be used towards a purchase of a home in DC! Who hasn't dreamed of owning a home in DC? I know I have!
Spearheaded by the hashtag, #ShowYourDC, Washingtonians can represent through social media the very scenes from the District that they hold near and dear to their heart. The goal is to show that Washington DC is more than just a swamp, the monuments, or Capitol Hill. It is about the amazing memories people make here.
